§ 2.12. Hydrometallurgical laboratory (HL)

    High quality specialists work in the laboratory. 16 of them have scientific degrees - a Candidate of Technical Science and a Doctor of Technical Science, as well as scientific ranks - an assistant professor, a senior staff scientist, a professor, a member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

    The laboratory includes several technological groups busy with conventional hydrometallurgical processes (non-autoclave and pressure leaching, sorption and extraction, electrolysis, etc) benefication of hydrometallurgical processes middlings, precious metals technologies and auxiliary groups (corrosion, mathematical modelling and test work support).

    The laboratory has in its disposal the following experimental equipment:
   • Laboratory (1 and 3 l), extended laboratory (4 X 25 l) and pilot (100 l and 3x 250 l) pressure plants to be used for leaching and metal powders production;
   • Laboratory and extended laboratory plants for hydrometallurgical middlings concentration;
   • Plants for laboratory research on sorption and extraction;
   • Plants for laboratory investigations on cathode metals production by electrolysis;
   • Laboratory and extended laboratory plants for conventional non-autoclave hydrometallurgical processes.
